Sustainability Policy Statement

At Leading Language, our mission is first and foremost to provide our clients with the highest quality of services for their employees to better understand one another, bridge communication gaps and improve company-wide collaboration. We believe that diversity should be embraced as a driver for creativity and success. We want to promote a better working environment that makes everyone comfortable, where everyone has an equal chance to shine and where diversity is celebrated. We believe that a reputation for integrity in all that we do is essential for our ongoing success and growth.

 

Leading Language abides by the following Sustainability Policy statement which reflects our philosophy and approach to matters related to our impact on society and the environment, and the way we manage them.

 

At Leading Language, we commit to:

Deliver services matching the highest standards of our profession: As such, we commit to only undertake assignments that we are competent to fulfil and we use only competent, experienced language workers qualified to carry out assignments successfully. We also commit to treat all material and information received from our clients in the course of business as highly confidential and not to use any such information for personal or financial gain. As such, we ensure that each of our employees and contractors signs and upholds a non-disclosure agreement.

 

Non-discrimination and equal opportunity in employment and occupation, which means we promote a strict non-discrimination in hiring, promotion and compensation practices. We believe workers (irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status) must receive equal pay for work of equal value.

 

Reasonable working conditions and protection of our workers with respect to their human rights which encompasses freedom from harassment by management or other workers or from any other source. We also support a transparent process for receiving and resolving worker complaints and have set up a grievance mechanisms and procedures for all our workers.

 

Transparency, integrity and accountability, which are interconnected principles and are pivotal to our reputation as both an employer and a service provider. We have an ethics and anti-corruption policy and process in place. Procedures for the safe reporting of suspected or known wrongdoing in compliance with the Protected Disclosures Act of 2000 and related best practices are being instituted and will be widely communicated to stakeholders. In partnership with Ethicalways, we also ensure that our workers are provided with anti-corruption (including anti-fraud) awareness training.

 

The Company has also established an Environmental Social Management System (ESMS) to ensure that social and environmental risks are properly identified, assessed, managed and mitigated. Our ESMS is based on the World Bank Performance Standards and guidelines.

Leading Language is proud to be supporting the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), focusing on the following goals:

  • As part of the SDG 4, Leading Language wants to support growth in the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills and can participate in the appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development.

  • As part of the SDG 5, Leading Language contributes to the achievement of gender equality and the empowerment of all women.

  • As part of SDG 10, Leading Language commits to empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all, irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other status. Leading Language also promotes equal opportunity and the reduction of inequalities of outcome.

  • As part of SDG 16, Leading Language commits to doing business without bribery, and to the active deterrence of corruption of any nature, across all the company’s activities.
